Its one thing to make a prototype, to run a kickstarter, to even fund your budget– its a whole other matter to actually deliver. Steve Jobs once said “Great artists ship”. Well, I ain’t saying I am a great artist, but I am saying he has a point. I am also saying proidly that I finally have the first coke bottle crafted OpenCharger ready to ship!
All sorts of great tech has been arriving in my mail box since January– and this early v1.9 OpenCharger for Taylor in Vancouver who needs it next week for a special presentation, incorporates it all (but alas not the new solar panels which havent arrived yet). Best of all it does contain a custom designed, kickass lithium Polymer, battery– which arived last week!
I made sure these batteries use no hazardous substances, aren’t toxic when busted or discarded improperly, can handle temperature extremes and that they will pack lotsa power into the charger. On a full charge you can power a regular cellphone 3 to 4 times! And the light will last about 12 hours. I say “about” because so far I havent been able to run the charger long enough to outlast the battery!
Check out the Kickstarter if you want a piece of the power! I am short 300$ to order the next circuits and have room for four to five more pledges.
