The concept of the bottle charger is evolving. I realized that I might be trying to do a little too much with my first trash charger by making it both wind and solar. Far wiser, I have realized is to do one right, then move on to integrating the other.
So, solar first. Here you can see the drastically simplified version that is a fifth the size. It fits neatly into two Coke bottle top bottoms that merge to form a watertight circular casing. I have my friends who weave trash into bags working on prototype covers made from the silver side of chip wrappers. The silver side will nicely reflect the sun, to keep the battery and circuits from getting too hot.
The development continues! Spurred by the success of these prototypes, Bianca gave me the idea of incorporating the solar charger on our line of Trashure clutch bags….
