Our latest organic solar backpack is ready to ship! Our amazing duo of high-powered women makers in Mt. Province, Philippines has been working hard to get this Pasiking (that is the Igorot name for their ancestral backpack) done… right.
To pull together this most unique and unlikely confluence of “high” and “low” tech has required working with mountain-top weavers, solar panel manfucaturers in Shenzen, and our master-weaver friend Gao-ongen who does the finishing in his remote hut without any cell phone or internet access!
But this one is now fully functional. And now that it is done, we are bringing Joan another four freshly woven pasikings that she can solarize for us and make some more of these amazing bags!
