What is Garbology exactly? Well, my friend Joel and I came up with the term for the title of a lecture at Xijen College, where he is president. It was just for fun at first, but now the term seems to have stuck. Pi, our intrepid film maker friend put together this little documentary on the remarkable unfolding of the plastic bottle brick phenomenon here in Mountain Province.
The bottle brick concept as a means for collaborative, community based, any-body-can-do-it-solid-waste-management is taking off like wild fire in Mountain province.
The three principles of Garbology:
1. Perception: “One Man’s Trash is another’s treasure”
2. Consciousness: “A problem is solved with a higher consciousness than the one that created it”
3. Home: It all starts at home. “Be the change you want to see in the world”
