I live in one of the poorest parts of the world.  It is beset by the “problems” of poverty, overpopulation, corporate exploitation and pollution.  The circumstances here are the same for the majority of people on the planet– be they in Africa, South America or one of the many urban slums on the planet.

As an artist I have discovered that the ingredients for your next masterpiece are always around you.  In the same way, the solutions to every single problem we think we have are also around us.  It is simply a shift in perception.  A shift into creativity.  Even better, co-creatitvity.  I work with the problem, turning it into beautiful solutions– changing trash into useful, practical and fundamentally practical solutions.  These solutions I am proud to say are imminently transferable.  Coke bottles are the same around the world, just as shelter, food and electrical needs are the same everywhere.

As a designer, I am challenged to create useful objects of extraordinary simplicity from the trash around me. The designs you see on this site involve hundreds of hundreds of refining and testing to get them to the level you see here.  Many of these are products that have been designed for “community manufacture– in other words by focusing on a design that can be replicated using locally available trash and no specialized tools or machines, we literally can have folks manufacture them from their village homes.  Our innovations range from bottle bricks packed with wrappers and plastics that would otherwise end up in the river to bags, purses solar chargers and more.

I invite you to work with us to refine these designs and make them even better.
